This was a music venue. Got a couple of photos of my dad inside during the 60's. I'm sure that The Rolling Stones played here.

This is the old Granada Cinema and Theatre. In the 60's bands like 'THe Swinging Blue Jeans' played on stage whilst the audience sat well behaved in the cinema seating. I used to attend the Saturday Morning Picture Club, for a pricely sum of around sixpence. Competitions, singsongs, cartoons and of course a movie were all part of the entertainment. Not all households had TV then, and if they did it was black and white. Happy innocent days :)

I was fortunate enough to see Gene Vincent, Adam Faith, Dave Berry, Screaming Lord Sutch, Marty Wilde, Jess Conrad, Joe Brown, and other pre Liverpool Sound groups at the Granada. The audience certainly wasn't very quiet when I used to go. As a side note I saw Status Quo at the Working Men's Club in Wellington St. round about 1966. There were possibly only about 50 people there!
