Does anybody know when and where Kettering High School first began? My mother attended from September 1929 when the school was in Bowling Green Road.

Dear Wendy. You may be interested to know that this year marks Kettering High School's Centenary. The School opened in September 1913, in the Bowling Green Road Building which you mention (now the Council Offices). We have an exhibition in celebration of the school's centenary at the Manor House Museum, which will run until 8 June 2013. I have a photograph of all the pupils at Kettering High School in May 1962. My late Mother, Rosemary Pamela Maton would have been 12 years old at  the time the photo was taken, but as the faces are so small it's really hard to see if she is in it. I wonder if anyone has a list of who was in that photograph and where they were sitting?

My Mother died of Cancer four years ago, and my Sister and I would really like to find out if this photograph has got my Mother in it.

If you can help that would be great.

Kettering High School Old Girls can be contacted on khsoga2013@gmail.com

Following the recent exhibition at The Manor House Museum, the exhibits and archive are stored at Southfield School, but there is a talk in March at the Alfred East Art Gallery.

As I was at the school in 1962 I may be able to help, I assume your mum started in september 1961?

I am sorry to hear she has died of cancer, I will ask my class mates if they remember the name.

My Mum, Audrey Johnson (1927-2013) attended this high school beginning in September, 1939.  She lived in Brigstock.  I would like to correspond with anyone who has information on this school.  Thank you.
