Comments about this page

Finished uppers tied in sized pairs of 12 waiting to be attatched to the racks of lasts. These will be then ready for the lasting room to begin forming a shoe. The white border seen on the uppers are linen vamp linings that form a barrier between the foot and the leather. On more expensive shoes, thin lining leather vamps were used instead of linen. The racks shown are closing room racks and are totally different to lasting room racks.
