William Ewart Boulter received the Victoria Cross when he was 23 years old. Boulter signed up in Kettering in 1914 and served as a sergeant in the 6th ‘Pals’ Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment. He received a medal for his valiant actions in 1916 at Trones Wood, France. A replica of his medal is on display at the Manor House Museum, Kettering. www.kettering.gov.uk/museums
